FaiCrossSG — Privacy Policy

FaiCrossSG (“the app”) helps motorcyclists and drivers crossing between Johor Bahru and Singapore by showing crossing-time estimates, live causeway cameras, rain radar and alerts, currency rates, and renewal reminders. We collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Who we are

The app and its backend are operated by CKM InfoTech. Contact: support@ckminfotech.biz.

What we collect

• Anonymous account ID — when you open the app, Firebase Anonymous Authentication creates a random user ID. We do not ask for or store your name, email, or phone number.
• Push token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token so we can send rain alerts and your morning brief. It is tied to the device, not to your identity.
• Locations you enter — if you set up rain alerts, the approximate home/work points and route you provide are stored to check whether rain is forecast along your route. We do not track your device’s background or precise GPS location.
• Crossing reports you submit — the checkpoint, direction, mode, and status (e.g. “cleared fast”) you report. These are anonymous and shared with other riders as aggregated live data.
• Compliance reminders — renewal dates you add (e.g. road tax, insurance, VEP, passport) are stored to remind you. They are personal to your anonymous account.
• Basic usage events — app-open timestamps used in aggregate to understand usage. No advertising identifiers are collected.

What we do NOT do

• No ads, no advertising SDKs, no ad identifiers.
• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• No background or continuous location tracking.
• No access to contacts, messages, call logs, or your photo library (a photo is only read if you choose to attach one to a hazard report).

How we use data

Solely to provide the app’s features: compute crossing estimates, send rain and brief notifications, show reminders, and improve reliability in aggregate.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Messaging, App Check) — provides anonymous sign-in and push delivery. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Public data feeds — Singapore LTA DataMall (traffic camera images), NEA / data.gov.sg (rain), Open-Meteo (rain forecast), and currency-rate APIs. These provide public information to the app; your personal data is not sent to them.

Data retention & deletion

Data is kept while your anonymous account is active. Because the account is anonymous, the simplest way to remove your data is to clear app data or uninstall the app. You may also email support@ckminfotech.biz to request deletion of data associated with your account.

Security

Traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted over HTTPS. Access to backend data is restricted.

Children

The app is intended for adults who commute across the border and is not directed at children.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
